Begins with the tale of his insidious mother

Militrisa Kirtiervna
Plotted the death
Of her husband
Tsar Guidon
So she could marry her secret lover Tsar Dadon

But when Dadon threw
Bova into a dungeon
Militrisa’s maternal heart
Was deeply touched

The mighty Bogatyr
And so she helped Bova to escape

His two great powers:
Unparalleled strength
And unearthly beauty
Enabled him
To defeat the forces of evil and find his true love:
Druzhevna Zenzeveyvna

He then married her
And he too became a Tsar
They had a son
Whom they also called Bova

The mighty Bogatyr
Ends with the tale of his handsome boy

Bova the elder
When his son grew up
Returned home
Craving for revenge
He beheaded Dadon and his son was crowned Tsar in his place

The golden glints gather
I follow
Their lights and I whisper
